THE family of a Derry man who has gone missing in Ibiza has appealed to the public for help in trying trace him.
Shaun Doherty from the Ballymagroarty area had been holidaying on the sunkissed Spanish island with friends for the past week.
The 29-year-old had been due to fly home on Wednesday but did not make the flight.
Shaun was said to be on the flight after, but did not make that one either.
He has not been in contact with anyone for almost two days.
His sister Stephanie said the family are very worried.
“We, his family, are so very worried and concerned about him and his safety,” she added.
“He didn’t make the flight with his friends. I spoke with Dublin Airport and they told me he didn’t get on another flight home and that he’s still in Ibiza.
“I spoke to about six different people in Ibiza airport, nobody knew anything and can’t confirm where he his.
“They just kept saying he was not there. I spoke to the police at the airport they have not come across him or know of him. I just kept getting passed on to other people.
“I spoke with the British Consulate in London and they told me to fill a missing persons report and wait to see what happens, to leave it with the police, but we are very worried as he has no phone and little money.”
Shaun was staying in the Playa D’en Bossa area of Ibiza.
Stephanie has asked that anyone who might have seen him since Wednesday, September 30 from 12 pm to contact her on 07706 031 914.
