SINN Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin has said the Assembly’s health committee will visit the new radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin Hospital next week.
The Derrty politician, who is chair of the health committee, said today:
“The Assembly’s health committee will visit the new radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin Hospital next week on Wednesday.
“The members will look at the progress of the development of the facilities, which are due to open next year.
“When operational, this radiotherapy unit will cater for cancer patients from Derry, Donegal, and across the wider north west.
“Members of the committee will meet those in charge of taking this project forward to see how it is progressing.
“During the committee’s visit to Derry, we will also hold a formal meeting of the health committee in Altnagelvin Hospital.
“This is part of our commitment to ensure the committee continues to engage with service providers and patients.”
