DERRY City hope to demolish Bray Wanderers tonight at the Brandywell and bag three vital home points (kick-off 7.45 pm).
Temporary manager Paul Hegarty will be without centre-back duo Ryan McBride and Aaron Barry who are missing out through suspension.
On a positive note, goalkeeper Gerard Doherty and midfielder Patrick McEleney return to the squad after they missed the game against Cork at Turner’s Cross a few weeks ago.
City, who had no game last Friday night, go into the match having picked up four points from their last two league outings against Cork City and Shamrock Rovers.
In the first meeting between the sides this season, the game finished 0-0 at the Brandywell in April, while in July, Adam Hanlon’s goal was enough for Wanderers to claim all three points at the Carlisle Grounds.
Hegarty has given himself until the end of the season to decide if he want the hot seat job in a full time capacity.
He took over from Peter Hutton who stepped down last month after poor run of games which left the Candystripes in a relegation dogfight.
But since Hegarty has taken over the reins, he has lifted Derry’s fortunes and they now lie in sixth place on 29 points.
Bray Wanderers are in seventh position on equal points but only Derry’s better goal difference separates the two sides.
