A tourist ambassador has been suspended from her job at a Derry hotel over a drunken foul-mouthed rant at pub doormen in the city.
The incident was captured on camera and posted on YouTube.
Hotels federation director Ramona Wylie is heard on the footage to call the bouncers ”Fenian bastards” and “w***ers”.
Now she has been suspended as financial director at Derry’s Best Western White Horse Hotel over her behaviour.
When asked by a bouncer who she is, Wylie replies: “NITB. Trying to support Derry. W***ker.
“No what you are? You are a f***ing, f***ing, f***king bastard trying to destroy this city.
“Derry city destroyed by you.
“Know what you are? Fenian bastards.”
The rant was recorded on camera by one of the bouncers, who described her behaviour as “aggressive”.
This year the Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel walked away with two of the three awards presented at the Best Western Ireland annual conference and award ceremony where they recognize exceptional service and customer care.
The Derry hotel won “Excellence in Customer Care” and winner of the Customer Feedback Challenge.
Ramona Wylie, Director of the Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel, said she was delighted with the accolades which were announced at the Best Western Awards held recently in Dublin.
Ms Wylie said: “Our staff work hard to ensure they deliver a great service to our guests at all times and aim to maintain a high standard throughout. These achievements are well deserved and we are very proud of them.”
The White Horse was awarded Four Star accreditation from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board in 2013 and upgraded to Best Western Plus with a £1.2m investment at the hotel which features a state-of-the-art leisure centre and an award winning Bistro & Grill.
