SINN Féin councillor Paul Fleming has called on Transport NI to repair footpaths which have fallen into a state of disrepair in the Prehen area of the Derry.
Councillor Fleming said: “I have been contacted by residents from Prehen Park who are concerned about the dangerous state of footpaths in the area.
“In one instance, a large hole has appeared where a section of the footpath has collapsed, creating a sink-hole effect.
“This has left the footpath in a dangerous state for as people could trip and fall, particularly anyone with mobility problems or pushing a pram.
“As we move into the darker nights there is an urgent need for this footpath to be repaired to avoid any possible incidents.
“I have been in contact with Transport NI about the issue and will continue to lobby them until the footpath is repaired.”
