THE disgraced Derry hotel director who called pub doormen “f***ing Fenian bastards” has now returned to work following “awareness training”.
One-time ‘Hotel Ambassador” Ramona Wylie was suspended earlier this month from her post as finance director of the Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel on Derry’s Clooney Road.
Drunk Wylie had been captured on video swearing at bouncers while on a night out in the city.
She later resigned her post on the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation following her foul mouthed outburst.
In a statement, her employers have said Wylie had “now resumed her duties following internal disciplinary procedures”.
They said the hotel had recently introduced “awareness training for all staff to ensure that they were conscious of their responsibilities in a diverse community such as ours”.
The hotel added: “The staff member involved in the original incident has been advised as to her future conduct and has already participated in our awareness training programme.
“She is deeply embarrassed and has apologised for her behaviour directly – and in person – to those affected.
“We are grateful that her apology has been accepted. She is a valued member of our team.”
Two weeks ago Wylie, while under suspension, was caught using hotel computers to answer emails from customers.
Wylie was suspended from her post after a video of her sectarian rant went viral on the internet.
During the incident, she was asked by a bouncer who she was.
Wylie replied: “NITB (Northern Ireland Tourist Board). Trying to support Derry. W***ker.
“No what you are? You are a f***ing, f***ing, f***king bastard trying to destroy this city.
“Derry city destroyed by you.
“Know what you are? F***ing Fenian bastards.”
The rant was recorded on camera by one of the bouncers, who described her behaviour as “aggressive”.
