DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have charged a 27-year-old man with making and throwing petrol bombs in Derry.
Police say the charges relate to an incident at Strand Road police station last night, on Monday, November 2.
It is alleged a number of petrol bombs were thrown at an armour-plated police Land Rover while leaving the heavily fortified premises.
The man was later arrested and taken to the same police station for questioning.
As a result, detectives have charged now charged him with the offences of arson endangering life, criminal damage to a PSNI vehicle and disorderly behaviour.
He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Wednesday, November 3, for a first remand hearing.
