WOMAN SUSTAINS BURNS IN CO DERRY FLAT FIRE

FIRE crews responded to a report yesterday evening of a fire at a flat.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire at The Rope Walk, Coleraine.

A NIFRS spokesman said: “Crews from Coleraine administered oxygen therapy and applied burns gel to a 40-year-old woman for burns to neck, face and head at the scene.

“She was conveyed to the Causeway Hospital by ambulance.”
