SDLP West Tyrone representative Daniel McCrossan has welcomes plans to extend the North’s gas network into the West in moves that will see Strabane connected to the network by 2016.
Mr McCrossan said: “I was delighted to attend the launch of the gas extension plans this afternoon.
“At a time when home energy prices are high, it’s important that we have competition within the energy market delivering the best deal for local people.
“It’s great to see that plans for the extension of the network are well underway and that local towns like Strabane can expect to be connected by 2016 while Omagh will get first gas in 2017.
“The West has been neglected for far too long and this is a first step in embracing new infrastructure development in the area.”
