EVACUATED residents have been allowed to return home in Co Derry due to an ongoing security alert.
Police have been hunting a bomb after it was reported on Wednesday that a bomb had been left in the village of Drumsurn.
The security alert is now into its third day.
Police say officers will maintain a presence in the area today as searches continue for the device.
An anonymous telephone call was passed to police on Wednesday to say a device had been left at Legavallon Road.
Sinn Féin MLA Cathal O’Hoisin said: “The security operation has now been widened out.
“A specific road junction was given in the warning which was wrong which means a wider patch now has to be searched.
“I urge people to take care and we hope there will be no more interruption.
“There’s no real indication about who is behind this.”
