A NUMBER of events have taken place in Derry today to mark the 17th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
The day commemorates those who have lost their lives as a result of transgender hatred or prejudice.
The events startedat 12pm with a remembrance service in the Garden of Reflection with Padraig O Tuama.
Following this at 12.45pm there was a Walk of Remembrance to Pilot’s Row.
Then immediately after at 1pm there was the launch of Transderry’s photographic exhibition in Eden Place Arts Centre, Pilot’s Row
The Rainbow Project has worked in partnership with Affirm NI to have prominent places in the city lit up purple for the Day of Remembrance.
