SHOCK AS CO DERRY CARE HOME TO SHUT

A CO Derry care home is to shut putting 80 staff posts on the line.

Garvagh Care home is one of seven to be closed across the North of Ireland.

Staff are said to be “shocked” at the bombshell news.

A spokesperson for Four Seasons Health Care says the main reason for the was that the homes were operating at a loss and were being subsidised by the firm.

The company confirmed 393 staff would be affected by the closures, but says it wants to retain as many workers as possible.
