Derry’s very own Joanna Cooper crowned Miss Universe Ireland in Cork on friday night
THIS is the Derry beauty queen who is making the headlines this weekend after ‘scooping’ an all Ireland pageant award.
Broadcast journalism student Joanna Cooper was crowned Miss Universe Ireland at a glittering bash in Cork on Friday night.
She beat off stiff competition from 29 other hopefuls as ‘Miss Wildcard’ at the Imperial Hotel to lift the 2015 crown.
Now she is heading off next month to Las Vegas for the Miss Universe Finals.
It will be screened live on Fox TV on Sunday, December 20.
Head judge said Rozanna Purcell said after Joanna’s win: “We were looking for the perfect beauty queen to go to Las Vegas and represent Ireland.
“Joanna fills those shoes!”
