POLICE are investigating after a 10-year-old girl was viciously attacked by a group of youths in Derry.
In an appeal for information, the PSNI say the girl was assaulted in the Central Drive Way area of the city last Wednesday, November 25.
The girl was walking along the road at around 9.50 pm when she was assaulted by a group of five youths.
During the attack, she sustained an injury to her finger and a bump to her head.
Investigating officer Constable Terry Lever said: “I would appeal to the female driver of a car who stopped and gave assistance to this young girl to contact Police at Strand Road as she may have information which would assist police enquiries.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this assault to contact us also on the non-emergency number 101.
“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
