RESCUE teams plucked a man to safety on Saturday evening after he became trapped in his home by rising flood waters in Clady.
A digger was used to rescue the pensioner in the Main Street area after Community Rescue Service (CRS) responded.
A further request assistance was made to Foyle Search and Rescue teams.
They also freed a person who became trapped in their car near Strabane.
The Fire Service said it rescued a total of 24 people after responding to 31 flooding incidents caused by Storm Desmond across western areas which had been the worst affected.
There had been a yellow alert for rain and wind across the North of Ireland issued by the Met Office which ended early this morning.
There are no weather warnings in place for the rest of today, with sunny spells and a few showers forecast, with strong to westerly winds that will ease in the afternoon.
