DETECTIVES in Derry are investigating a serious assault on a woman yesterday.
It happened in the Gobnascale area of the Waterside on Tuesday morning, December 8.
Police say a number of masked men were involved in the incident.
The woman received serious injuries during the attack.
She was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital where she currently remains for treatment.
Chief Inspector Ivor Morton said a motive was still being investigated and he appealed for information.
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw men going to or coming from the house between 9.30 am and 10.30 am yesterday morning,” he said.
