POLICE detained a motorist today during follow up inquiries into a report a car had been driven off from a Co Derry filling station yesterday.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Shortly before noon on Wednesday, a report was made that a car had been driven from the Castlerock filling station in Coleraine without fuel being paid for.
“At about 1.30am today, police stopped the car at Clooney Road.
“The driver was arrested on suspicion of making off without payment, as well as driving while disqualified and without insurance.
“The car was seized and will not be released until proof of insurance is provided.”
