SINN Fein councillor Colly Kelly is warning residents in Derry to be on the alert for oil tank thieves.
He sounded the warning after he received a call from a resident in the Creggan area earlier this week saying home heating oil had been stolen from their tank.
Said councillor Kelly: “I would appeal to people to be alert to this.
“Let your neighbours family and friends in and around the Creggan area know to be aware of this as this despicable act has happened recently in Rinmore Drive.
“The Volunteer Eamon Lafferty Cumann delivered a letter highlighting this last week in these areas and we are just reiterating this as it is of grave concern.”
