DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team probing the murder of Paul McCauley in Derry in 2006 have made a fresh arrest.
Police say that a 28 year old man was arrested in Belfast last night.
The man, who is from Derry, was taken to the serious crime suite at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast for questioning.
The officer leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey, said today’s arrest brought the number of people who have been arrested since Paul died last June to 13.
To date, one man, Daryl Proctor,has been charged with murder and another reported to the Public Prosecution Service.
DCI Harvey said police enquiries into Paul’s murder were active and ongoing and he appealed to those with information to come forward.
