SINN Féin Councillor Kevin Campbell has welcomed work beginning today to resolve a sewage problem in Bligh’s Gardens.
The problem of sewage has plagued the area for over a week now.
Residents had been forced to walk through raw sewage to get to their homes.
Councillor Campbell said: “I welcome the news today that a contractor working for NI Water has moved to carry out a cleanup operation at Bligh’s Gardens.
“It’s been a terrible week for residents who had to walk through raw sewage to get to their homes.
“Hopefully this work will now resolve the issues that have been causing the flooding and sewage being on the walkways.”
