DETECTIVES in Derry are investigating an early morning arson attack on a flat in the Waterside area.
Fire crews received a 999 call just after 1.50 am this morning, Friday, January 8, about a blaze at residential premises on Corrody Road not far from the Top of The Hill Park.
Appliances from Crescent Link and Northland stations raced to the scene.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus put out a fire at the front door of a ground floor flat.
NIFRS say all occupants inside the flat were out by the time firefighters arrived.
One man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being aided by paramedic crews.
Following an examination of the scene, NIFRS contacted the PSNI to say the fire was deliberate.
