A NEW search is underway today to try and find missing Derry pensioner John Concannon.
Family, friends, neighbours and volunteers gathered at 12 noon this lunchtime at the Halfway House car park in Co Donegal.
A message posted on the Facebook page ‘Foot Search for John Concannon’: “The cars will be parked at Halfway House.
“Searchers will be split into groups and a minibus has been arranged to take you to drop off point and collect you again once search is completed.
“Dress for the weather.
“It is very important to wear suitable clothing, gloves, scarf etc and a good pair of sturdy boots /shoes or waterboots.
“Also if you have high visibility jackets or clothing please remember to wear these as we only have a few that we can provide.
“We would also ask that anyone that anyone that would like to help the search but has not life to the meeting point would message the page.
“We will do our best to get a car share sorted for them.”
John Concannon has been missing since November 10 last year after getting on the wrong bus in Derry.
Extensive searches have been been carried out on both sides of the Derry/Donegal border over the past number of months.
