WORKING SMOKE ALARM ALERTS FLAT RESIDENT TO DERRY FIRE

FIRE crews were called out to a flat fire in Derry in the early hours of this morning.

The Fire Service say teams from Northland Station responded to a report of a fire at Waterloo Street in the Bogside area just after 1 am.

“The fire in the bedroom on the first floor of the flat was out on arrival of FRS,” said a spokesperson.

“Sounding smoke alarm alerted occupier to the fire.”
