THE Met office has issued a yellow snow and wind warning for overnight tonight and into Saturday afternoon.
The warning will be in place from just after midnight.
The Met Office said: “Frequent wintry showers, heavy at times, are expected during Saturday.
“Snow accumulations will be more localised, with around 1-3 cm possible, primarily above 100 metres.
“Road surface temperatures are expected to fall below freezing Friday night into Saturday morning, bringing some icy patches.”
Drivers are urged to take care on the roads, to slow down and leave plenty of room from the vehicle in front.
Derry took a battering from heavy winds on Thursday night and into the early hours of this morning as Storm Gertrude swept in across the island of Ireland.
