SDLP Councillor Angela Dobbins has warned residents in the Culmore of Derry to be on the lookout for crooks after a fresh oil theft.
She sounded the vigilance warning after a Culmore resident had a quantity of oil stolen from their tank.
Said Cllr Dobbins: “This is not the first house in the vicinity to be affected by oil theft.
“I am asking residents to be more vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity or any knowledge of those involved to PSNI no matter how insignificant it may appear.
“Crimes like these are definitely on the rise and those involved are intent in
causing hardship and distress to their victims and must be stopped.“
Anyone who spots suspicious activity in an around oils thanks is urged to report it to police on the 101 non-emergency number.
