A 24-year-old man has been returned to prison after he was arrested for attempting to murder PSNI officers following a car chase with police in Derry.
The man stole a car in a creeper-style burglary from the Lindenwood Park area on Friday morning.
Police later spotted the grey Skoda car around 12.20 pm and gave chase.
The man then sped drove off, narrowly missing two officers who were on foot.
The stolen car then crashed into another car at the Caw roundabout in the city ten minutes later.
Fortunately, no-one was injured in the crash.
But one officer was injured while making the arrest.
Two other police officers were injured when they had to get out of the way when the man originally drove off.
The man was arrested for two counts of attempted murder of police officers, a number of driving offences, breach of bail and various road traffic offences.
The PSNI say the 24-year-old has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
However, he has been returned to the remand unit at Maghaberry prison for breaching his bail conditions on other offences.
