DETECTIVES in Derry are investigating a link between two burglaries in the city last week.
Police say that during the Waterside break at a house in the Knighstbridge area last Friday afternoon between 3 pm and 7.30 pm cash and jewellery was stolen.
A second burglary was reported at a house in the Woodbrook area on the cityside sometime between 4.30 pm and 11.45 pm the following day, Saturday, February 13.
A quantity of jewellery and a sum of money was also taken.
Detectives believe there is a link between the two burglaries.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Joanne Kavanagh said: “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the areas, or who knows anything about either of these burglaries, to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
