ENTREPRENEURS from across Derry and Strabane will be taking their lead from the experts next week with over 50 free business support workshops and events taking place as part of Enterprise Week 2016, February 22-26.
The programme is the biggest event in the North West’s business calendar and welcomes companies from all sectors keen to find out more about key issues such as finance, procurement, digital technology and creative thinking.
The programme is organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council and the events take place at a range of venues across the city.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Elisha McCallion, said Enterprise Week had an essential role in providing business support for local companies.
“I am delighted to see so many companies across the district engaging with the programme again this year.
“We’ve had so much positive feedback based on previous years which has informed the programme and the business team have done a fantastic job in sourcing some fantastic speakers.
“While the region does face some considerable challenges in terms of the pace of economic regeneration, we have a fantastic talent base here which has enormous potential.
“Council has committed significant resources to developing and supporting local businesses and I would really urge SMEs and entrepreneurs to come along and find out what is available.”
Topics up for discussion during the week include Brand Building, Networking, Project Development and Digital Marketing to name but a few.
There will also be plenty of practical advice on cost-cutting, tax planning and improving efficiency geared towards saving you money.
Other highlights include a special Energy Conference led by the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, and a Business Clinic for pre-start and start-up businesses.
With places already being booked well in advance, Council Business Manager, Louise Breslin, urged local companies to register their interest to secure remaining places.
“This year’s programme brings together a wide variety of leading industry figures who will be speaking about their first hand experiences in forging a successful path in the local business industry.
“We will be focusing on areas which companies often find challenging, such as sourcing appropriate funding, keeping up with the latest developments in technology and effective management techniques.
“As always we expect a good turnout so I would advise anyone interested to register in advance to secure places.”
