A 75-year-old man is due at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning on a catalogue of child sex abuse offences dating back over 60 years.
Derry Daily can reveal that the OAP, from Groarty Road in the Creggan area of the city, is facing a total of 26 charges.
The charges he faces stretch over an 18 year period in the city.
The offences relate to seven male victims who were young boys at the time.
The offences and were allegedly committed on dates between October 1954 and December 1972.
The elderly man has been charged with:
- 20 counts of indecent assault
- 4 counts of attempted buggery with a boy under the age of 16
- and 2 counts of gross indecency with or towards a child.
The pensioner will be appearing in the dock of Court 2 at Bishops Street Courthouse on Monday, February 22.
