DETECTIVES in Derry are investigating the armed hold up of a petrol station in the city.
The PSNI say officers received a report on Friday night about the incident in the Waterside area.
A man armed with a knife walked into the petrol station on Glendermott Road just before 9.15 pm.
He threatened members of staff before making off with a number of packets of cigarettes.
The members of staff were not injured as a result of the incident.
The knife man is described as being around 6ft tall and of thin build.
He was wearing gloves and a black coloured hooded top with the hood up.
Detectives at Strand Road police station are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them on the 101 non emergency number.
