A man was plucked to safety last night from a house fire in Derry.
The Fire and Rescue Service a frying pan was left unattended on a cooker.
As a result of the fire, the house was choking with smoke when crews arrived at the scene in the Rosemount area..
The man was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
The householder was give first aid at the scene by paramedics.
The incident happened around around 10.20 pm and as accidental.
In recent months, the Fire and Rescue Service has issued warnings to the public about leaving pans and pots on the stove unattended.
