A security alert is underway in Derry tonight.
The PSNI say a suspicious object has been found in the Gelvin Gardens area of the Waterside are of the city.
A number of homes have been evacuated.
Officers are currently at the scene and there are no further details at this stage.
British Army Technical Officers have been tasked to the scene to examine the object.
