A full scale operation is underway to tackle a massive blaze at a former hospital in Derry.
Around 44 firefighters are dealing with a major blaze at the old Stradreagh Hospital at Gransha.
Some of those involved in tackling the blaze are wearing breathing apparatus because of the heavy black smoke.
The blaze is in an unoccupied building once used by a school and is due for demolotion.
The Western Trust say there is no impact or disruption to patients, the building was unoccupied.
Mark Deeney of the Fire and Rescue Service said: “It appears to have started at one end of the building and travelled between two floors, so it’s quite difficult to access.”
The operation to put the fire is expected to last most of the day.
