POLICE are on the hunt for thieves who stole up to a dozen cattle and a cattle trailer overnight in Co Derry.
The PSNI say officers received a report that the rustlers struck between 9 pm last night and 7 am this morning, Wednesday, March 16.
The Ifor Williams trailer and the cattle were taken from premises at the Ballynagarve Road in Magherafelt.
Constable Paul Taggart has appealed for anyone with information about suspicious activity around the farm or saw the trailer on the road to get in touch.
He added: “If you can help please call the 101 quoting reference number 25216316.
“Alternatively information about crime can be passed via the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
Rustlers have struck several times over the last number of months across Co Derry.
Rural crime is now a major problem with thieves stealing animals and farms machinery to sell on the black market.
