A man has been convicted at Derry Crown Court for falsely claiming benefits.
Kenneth Morton, of The Fountain, Derry, claimed Income Support, Employment and Support Allowance and Carers Allowance totalling £18,278.
He claimed the money while failing to declare he was working.
The 49-year-old was given an eight month prison sentence suspended for two years.
Morton has been ordered to pay back any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
