THE Western Trust Foyle Disability Resource Centre (FDRC) says it was delighted to welcome Derry City and Strabane Council Mayor Elisha McCallion to launch FDRC Users ‘A Year in Pictures’ Magazine.
Speaking at the launch Cathal MacElhatton, FDRC Manager said: “I would like to thank Mayor Elisha McCallion for taking the time out of her busy schedule to be with us today to launch ‘A Year in Pictures’ Magazine.
“FDRC provides care services for people with a physical and or sensory disability and or acquired brain injury.
“FDRC service users have been involved in collating photographs and providing commentary on the pictures to produce a magazine highlighting the many activities and events all have participated in over the past year.”
Cathal continued: “The photographs collated cover a wide range of activities such as walking, swimming, pottery, arts, gliding, outings, fancy dress parties and music amongst others and demonstrates that our service users remain resolutely focused on activities which promote their independence.
“The magazine allows users to easily remember the activities which have taken place and this especially assists those who have memory difficulties.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm of FDRC staff and our Health Improvement Department in supporting and encouraging service users to produce this wonderful magazine.”
