A MAN was rescued from the cold waters of the River Foyle in the early hours of this morning.
The Foyle Search and Rescue team responded to calls around nine minutes past midnight that a male had entered the river.
Two boats and a land crew were dispatched to the scene, along with a PSNI helicopter.
The man was quickly located by FSR teams and plucked from the water.
After receiving first aid at the scene, he was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital.
