HUNDREDS of people are expected to turn out today to pay their respects and say their tearful farewells to a former Derry City Ladies footballer who has died at the age of 24.
Bronagh McMenamin, from the Waterside area of the city, tragically died in the City Hospital, Belfast on Tuesday, May 3, following a battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Her remains leave her sorrowing family home at Poplar Road, Waterside at 9.30 am for 10 am Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Trench Road, Derry.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore.
Her parents William and Margaret (nee Nash) and brother Aaron had maintained a bedside vigil for the young woman after her health deteriorated last month.
