The pier at Buncrana where five members of the same family lost their lives in March.
A man was rescued last night after he was found in the water off Buncrana Pier.
The man was spotted in the water by a passer-by around 10 pm.
The alarm was raised and the man was thrown a life-ring from the pier and was pulled to safety.
The emergency services soon after arrived at the pier.
He was treated at the scene by the fire service before being transferred by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital.
The man is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.
