DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have charged a man with attempted murder.
The charge relates to dissident republicans leaving a bomb under a police officer’s car in Derry last year.
A device was found under the car parked in the driveway of the officer’s home in Glenrandel, Eglinton last June 18.
The officer’s wife, who is serving police officer, disturbed the bomber as he placed device under the vehicle.
At the time, the PSNI said it was a “clear attempt” to kill police officers.
The man, 35, is also accused of possessing explosives with intent to endanger life.
He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.
