POLICE have revealed that the mother of a dissident republican gun attack victim suffered a broken arm during the attack.
The details emerged as police in Derry issued a fresh appeal for information about the paramilitary-style shooting.
A 30-year-old man was shot in the ankles at Yeats Court in Ballymagroarty in the early hours of Sunday.
He is currently recovering in Altnagelvin hospital.
The PSNI say that the man’s 58-year-old mother was also injured during the incident.
She suffered a fractured arm and had to be brought to hospital for treatment.
Police asked anyone with information on the shooting to come forward via the non-emergency number 101.
