POLICE have arrested a 16-year-old male youth following a break-in at a primary school in the Derry in the early hours this morning.
According to Inspector Jonathan Hunter, officers received a report of an “ongoing incident” at Holy Family Primary School in Ballymagroarty at around 4.00 am went to the the scene.
Added Inspector Hunter: “The young male was located and arrested on the premises.”
Police recovered a quantity of electronic equipment at the scene in the course of their investigations.
A “swag bag” was found to contain a number of iPads and cameras.
The youth was formally arrested for burglary.
He is currently in custody at Strand Road PSNI station and is helping investigating officers with their enquiries.
