PSNI Inspector Tony Moore has appealed appeal to anyone who may have been in the Rossnagalliagh area of city in the early hours of yesterday morning around 12.25 am to come forward.

Inspector Moore has asked that if they public noticed anyone acting suspiciously to contact police at Strand Road on the 101 non-emergency number.

The teenager was later released on bail pending further police enquiries.

Added Inspector Moore: “Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
