DERRY’s golden boy of soccer James McClean married his long-time girlfriend Erin Connor in their home town this afternoon surrounded by family and friends.
The happy couple tied the knot after their wedding Mass in St Columb’s Church at Chapel Road in the Waterside area of the city.
Creggan born McClean met beautiful Erin, from the Lettershandoney area on the outskirts of the city, in a local nightclub six years ago.
They have two children, Allie Mae (2) and eight-month-old James Junior.
The former Derry City favourite, a Republic of Ireland international now playing his football with English Premiership side West Bromwich Albion, popped the question with a stunning solitaire diamond ring in November 2012.
But the couple have had to put on hold their Honeymoon plans.
James has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for a friendly fixture with Holland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin next Friday, May 27.
It is the first of two warm-up games planned by manager Martin O’Neill ahead of the opening game against Sweden in the European Championships on June 13 in France.
