PSNI crestPOLICE are appealing for information after a teenage girl was attacked in the Glenabbey Drive area of Derry by a group of males armed with an aerosol can and a lighter.

The incident took place last month but the PSNI have only just released details.

Police say the girl was sitting outside her home at around 9 pm on Friday April 14.

A group of three or four males approached her and using an aerosol can and lighter they created a flame and singed her hair.

The girl was not injured as a result of this incident but she was left very badly shaken.

Constable Irvine would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident to contact police at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
