FIRE CREWS TACKLE LARGE GORSE FIRE

FIRE crews are tackling a large gorse fire at Stroanback in the Dunnyboe area of Strabane.

A Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Currently six fire appliances and 45 firefighters are dealing with a 2-mile fire front in the area.

Firefighters are using beaters to deal with the fire.

“An NIFRS Command Support Unit vehicle and the Fire Emergency Support Service vehicle are also in assistance at the scene.”
