POLICE in Derry are hunting a gang of youths over a vicious an assault in the city centre last month.
The PSNI say a 29-year-old man was treated in Altnagelvin Hospital after he was attacked by a number of youths at around 12.15am in Foyle Street.
The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, May 28 but details have only been released today.
Investigating officer Constable Fenton has appealed for information in catching the youths.
“I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 838 of 31/05/16.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
