THUG HUNTED AFTER MAN KICKED AND PUNCHED IN HEAD

strand-road-polie-station-derry-google-1-1-400x240-20131121-132010-438-1POLICE are investigating an assault on a man in Derry during which he was kicked and punched in the head.

The attack happened on Wednesday, June 15, but details have only now been released.

The man reported to the PSNI that he was punched and kicked by a male of a man in the early hours between 1.00am and 1.30am in the area of Crawford Square.

He was later taken to Altnagelvin Hospital and treated for cuts to his head.

Investigating Officer Constable Monica McColgan has appealed to anyone who may have seen a male to come forward.

He is described as being of medium build and wearing a black jumper, jeans and brown boots in the vicinity of North Edward Street, Clarendon Street, Northland Road or Crawford Square at the time of the assault to contact officers at Strand Road on 101 quoting reference 84 15/06/16.
