SINN Féin MEP Martina Anderson today met with leading MEPs from across the European Union to discuss the impact of the EU referendum.
Speaking from Strasbourg, Ms Anderson said: “In the European Parliament in Strasbourg today I met with leading MEPs from across Europe to discuss the potential impact of the recent EU referendum result.
“I met with representatives of the main political groupings in the parliament, including MEPs from the SNP and the British Labour party.
“I also met with Dunuta Hubner, who previously served as the European Commissioner for Regional Policy and, as such, is acutely aware of what being dragged out of the EU would mean for the North.
“I made it clear to them that the majority of people in the north of Ireland voted to remain in the EU and that vote must be respected.”
