POLICE in Derry are appealing for information after graves were vandalised at the City Cemetery.
It was reported that three male youths were disturbed inside the cemetery at around 9.30pm on Friday 15 July.
The youths, one dressed in a grey coloured tracksuit, flet on foot.
Sinn Féin councillor Kevin Campbell said he had visited the cemetery to see the damage and spoke to a number of relatives who were very upset by the attack.
“It’s been just a month since the last incident there,” he said.
“There is a mounting catalogue of vandalism incidents of graves in the City Cemetery over the past year and that’s not including the burning of a car in the grounds”.
He appealed for these “senseless actions” to stop and for anyone who knows the culprits to contact the PSNI.
A police spokesman asked anyone who witnessed the incident or noticed suspicious activity in the area to call the Strand Road station, quoting reference 1290 15/07/16.
Information can also be given anonymouslythrough the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
